Church Membership Down – Fewer Believe in Man Mande Global Warming
Jun 11th
Rasmussen Reports poll finds the population in general is buying into this religion less and less.
The most current Rasmussen Reports poll shows a reduction of the number of peope who believe in the Church of Global Warming. This has been reported by the American Spectator and News Busters last month, but here is my take on it.
From RasmussenReports.com
The new survey also finds that 39% of voters believe global warming is caused by human activity, up from 34% in April. However, 44% say long-term planetary trends are most to blame for global warming. Last month, 48% cited this reason.
This is most likely where most of the news will stop reading and print it, with flashy headlines saying “More believe, hallayula!” But like most things, if you keep reading as far as the next paragraph:
Despite the rise in voters who say human activity is to blame, the overall results represent a complete reversal from a year ago, when 47% blamed human activity and only 34% blamed planetary trends.
So, as of a year ago, we’re down to 39% of the voters believing in the Church.
Now, I predict that this number will not get much lower despite the actual cooling of the earth since 1998 and the increase of the truth coming out despite windbags like those at Real Climate or other Church followers.

Simply put: This is not only a religious issue (everyone needs something to believe in), its also a political one. If you check almost any poll from the United States that asks the population how they identify politically, you will find we are pretty well split democrat/republican with a slice of the pie turning out to be independents. on the edges you find your Liberal and Conservative.
Now, Global Warming is a big deal for One of these political parties. (hint: AL GORE). Though more and more Democrats are defecting on passing Global Warming legislation for fear of being voted off the island, the issue itself of needing a bandwagon of blame to point fingers about how we need to change our ways will always be a core of the protesting hippy “Fight the system” political bull crap.

Prius Sales down 45%
Jun 8th
The Eco-status symbol is falling like a rock in sales.
From BusinessGreen.com
Sales of the Prius in the US were down from 15,011 in May 2008 to just 10,091 for the same month this year. For the year to date, sales of the Prius in the US stand at 42,753 compared to 79,675 in 2008 – a drop of more than 45 per cent.
They also say that:
Despite claims that Americans turning their backs on gas-guzzlers have contributed to the present dire straits faced by GM and others, Toyota’s latest sales figures point to a stagnant market for more efficient Japanese models as well.
Well, GM has more vehicles that get better MPG then Toyota, but its hard to let Facts get in the way of a good Eco-Story. the bottom like is sales are down for everyone… So the claim that GM isn’t making what Americans want to buy is bogus.
Then again, if we were to allow any of the Big Three to sell the cars they sell overseas… we could rock a diesel PT Cruiser that gets 50+ highway MPG (32+ City), but us Americans sure love our regulations.
Driving SUVs Better for Mother Earth Then the Riding Train
Jun 7th
One of the great church mantras, riding mass transit instead of a car, has been completely refuted thanks to a University of California study.
From Breitbart.com:
Environmental engineers Mikhail Chester and Arpad Horvath at the University of California at Davis say that when these costs are included, a more complex and challenging picture emerges.
In some circumstances, for instance, it could be more eco-friendly to drive into a city — even in an SUV, the bete noire of green groups — rather than take a suburban train. It depends on seat occupancy and the underlying carbon cost of the mode of transport.
Oh my Gore, they did not just say what I thought they said did they? Wait, where was this study done, some evil right-wing non-progressive red state?
University of California at Davis
Oh, Shit.
“Government policy has historically relied on energy and emission analysis of automobiles, buses, trains and aircraft at their tailpipe, ignoring vehicle production and maintenance, infrastructure provision and fuel production requirements to support these modes,” they say.
So wait, are you trying to tell us, members of the Church, that many factors that go into efficiency of a transit system (whether it be automobiles, trains, or busses) and not just the miles per gallon the vehicle gets!? What next, you will try to tell us that some other factors may factor into the fluctuations of the Earth’s temperature other then Carbon Dioxide? Blasphemy! Next thing you’ll try to spew out of your right-wing xenophobe racist mouths will probably be some nonsense about how the Sun is responsible for the Earth’s temperature, or that Barack Obama isn’t the messiah!

We here at the Church of Global Warming will have nothing to do with this nonsense.
Either way, by driving an SUV with a couple buddies, not only do you emit less carbon dioxide (unless everyone visited Taco Bell on the way), but other benefits include the following:
- Retaining that ‘Fresh Out of the Shower’ smell.
- Being able to leave your destination without needing to look up your train schedule on the interweb.
- Not having to listen to someone on the train bitch about evil corporate outsourcing, yet brag about their Toyota.
- The ability to look like you aren’t too poor to drive to work.
- Being able to stop to pee and not get arrested for it.
- Reclining leather heated seats.
- Ample foot room
- Ample leg room
- Not needing a billion dollar cho-cho train to do what a $40,000 Hummer can.
- Ample arm room
- Being able to drive in more directions then To-and-Fro
- Two words: Cubic Inches.
- Getting to keep your Man-Card.
And the winner is:

The Sun Affects Earth’s Climate. Film at Eleven
Jun 1st
The possibility that the Sun might affect the Earth’s climate has been proposed in the past, but here now we have a guy from NASA saying so too. Brilliant.
From NewsBlaze.com:
Thomas Woods, a solar scientist at the University of Colorado in Boulder said “The fluctuations in the solar cycle impacts Earth’s global temperature by about 0.1 degree Celsius, slightly hotter during solar maximum and cooler during solar minimum,” and added “The sun is currently at its minimum, and the next solar maximum is expected in 2012
They go on to say:
Between 1650 and 1715, almost no sunspots were observed on the Sun’s surface and this is believed to have been partly responsible for the Little Ice Age in Europe.
Now, I am no egg-head but I would care to guess that perhaps the giant ball of gas… whops, not specific enough.
Ah hem.

Now, I am no egg-head but I would care to guess that perhaps the giant yellow ball of gas in the sky would affect the Earth’s temperature more the 0.1 degree Celsius, what with the whole Ice Age thing of the past. Though perhaps a real scientist, not a shill for big oil, would explain how the Sun doesn’t actually impact the Earth’s temperature, and it is all our fault.
Gee, perhaps a new tax will help.
NASA warming scientist warns: ‘Democratic process isn’t working’ in climate fight…
Mar 19th
So, how to you fix a problem (that doesn’t exist) when people don’t believe in it enough? You force them… you know, for their own good.
From Guardian.co.uk’s Environmental Activism section:
Protest and direct action could be the only way to tackle soaring carbon emissions, a leading climate scientist has said.
James Hansen, a climate modeller with NASA, told the Guardian today that corporate lobbying has undermined democratic attempts to curb carbon pollution. “The democratic process doesn’t quite seem to be working,” he said.
Speaking on the eve of joining a protest against the headquarters of power firm E.ON in Coventry, Hansen said: “The first action that people should take is to use the democratic process. What is frustrating people, me included, is that democratic action affects elections but what we get then from political leaders is greenwash.
I find it funny how they use “greenwash” to refer to people or companies who say their green by doing something to jump on the Global Warming band wagon, but because it is not “enough” they are called out to be “greenwashing”. of coarse, Exxon could donate every cent of its profit to Greenpeace, and they would still be blamed for “Greenwashing”.
Personally, I think of Greenwashing as Brainwashing.
“The democratic process is supposed to be one person one vote, but it turns out that money is talking louder than the votes. So, I’m not surprised that people are getting frustrated. I think that peaceful demonstration is not out of order, because we’re running out of time.”
Excuse me? This NASA scientist shows his true Church of Global Warming approved colors whenever he speaks. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be blaming this on “the evil money” but instead pointing out how every day less and less people buy into his brand of Kool Aid.
Hansen said h
e was taking part in the Coventry demonstration tomorrow because he wants a worldwide moratorium on new coal power stations. E.ON wants to build such a station at Kingsnorth in Kent, an application that energy and the climate change minister Ed Miliband recently delayed. “I think that peaceful actions that attempt to draw society’s attention to the issue are not inappropriate,” Hansen said.
So, Hansen, what do you do when peaceful action doesn’t work either? sooner or later, you are going to have to, at gun point, take people’s money so you can choose how it can help with your delusional disaster.

Comment by Anesha VanParken andiebadandi@ on 2009-05-19 14:56:20 this is so gay. first they freak everyone out by telling them the world is ending by 2012 and now there brain washing us to do something about something that is happening on other planets too. but now theres a religion, that’s really dumb. |
In Passing Regulations: “Never waste a good crisis”
Mar 6th
Clinton said in a speach to young Europeans at the European Parliament that global economic turmoil provided a fresh opening to slip in the cliamte change dogma.
“Never waste a good crisis … Don’t waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security,”
From Reuters:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday “never waste a good crisis,” and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way.
Highlighting Europe’s unease the day after Russia warned that gas flows via Ukraine might be halted, she also condemned the use of energy as a political lever.
Clinton told young Europeans at the European Parliament that global economic turmoil provided a fresh opening. “Never waste a good crisis … Don’t waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security,” she said.
Does anyone else find fascinating that those who propagate the word of the Church of Global Warming are not even trying to hide large components of their agenda anymore? This is very much like what many environmentalists are doing in areas that were hit by Katrina, trying to lobby for “environmentally friendly homes for low-income” people in New Orleans.
Where is all the “Fearmontering” outrage that was talked about with President Bush after 911? When it comes to the environment and the associated political theology, there can be no such thing.
It’s America’s Fault for Liking SUVs and Soft Toilet Paper… No Joke
Mar 5th
I can see them yelping about me driving my Tahoe, but soft toilet paper? I thought paper was a renewable resource!?
From the Guardian’s Environment section:
The tenderness of the delicate American buttock is causing more environmental devastation than the country’s love of gas-guzzling cars, fast food or McMansions, according to green campaigners. At fault, they say, is the US public’s insistence on extra-soft, quilted and multi-ply products when they use the bathroom.
“This is a product that we use for less than three seconds and the ecological consequences of manufacturing it from trees is enormous,” said Allen Hershkowitz, a senior scientist at the Natural Resources Defence Council.
So, you expect me to believe that not only is soft toilet paper causing global warming, but it is indeed worse then all the gas-guzzling cars we drive? At least they have someone non-biased like a member of the Natural Resource Defence Council to educate us. I thought paper was renewable…
“Future generations are going to look at the way we make toilet paper as one of the greatest excesses of our age. Making toilet paper from virgin wood is a lot worse than driving Hummers in terms of global warming pollution.” Making toilet paper has a significant impact because of chemicals used in pulp manufacture and cutting down forests.
Ummm… I am pretty sure Virgin wood is not bad to use, and i’m allsure pretty sure that it does not mean what this guy thinks it means. Virgin wood is simply wood that has no chemical treatments or finishes applied to it… You know, untreated Vs. wood that you buy with a weather treatment for example. Appartently this guy never worked with his hands before.
A campaign by Greenpeace seeks to raise consciousness among Americans about the environmental costs of their toilet habits and counter an aggressive new push by the paper industry giants to market so-called luxury brands.
Fantastic, and with Greenpeace talking to us, I’m sure we will yet again get a non-biased opinion on the issue. I have a question… Since when was it not okay to use a Renewalbe Resource? Vergin or not, Wood grows back. You cut it down, regrow it, cut it down again. and every good environmentalist knows that a young growing tree takes more C02 out of the air then an old tree does. But this realy isn’t about the environment, now is it? its abotu control.

Global Warming Protest Frozen Out by Massive Snowfall
Mar 2nd
The irony of Snow during a Global Warming protest is ironic to some, and more proof of the drastic need for action on Climate Change before we all die for others.
From Fox News:
Global warming activists stormed Washington Monday for what was billed as the nation’s largest act of civil disobedience to fight climate change — only to see the nation’s capital virtually shut down by a major winter storm.
Schools and businesses were shuttered, lawmakers cancelled numerous appearances and the city came to a virtual standstill as Washington was blasted with its heaviest snowfall of the winter.
It spelled about six inches of trouble for global warming activists who had hoped to swarm the Capitol by the thousands in an effort to force the government to close the Capitol Power Plant, which heats and cools a number of government buildings, including the Supreme Court and the Capitol.
Thats fantastic. I find it amazing that the environMENTALists even bother holding global warming protests in the winter. If I were an environMENTAList trying to push an agenda based on the swing of the weather, I would probably wait until the summer for crap like this.
httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ordt7kRdknA
The lies from the democrats in Government seam to get better though. From CBSNews.com:
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had to cancel an appearance Monday at a global warming rally in Washington, D.C., that was hit by a snowstorm because her flight was delayed, her office told CNSNews.com.
Brianna Cayo-Cotter, the spokesman for the Energy Action Coalition that held the rally, told a group of reporters that she had been in contact with Pelosi and that her flight had been delayed because of inclement weather.
A blizzard Sunday night and early Monday morning blanketed the nation’s capital with snow, causing events to be cancelled and delayed across the city.
House Select Energy Independence and Global Warming Chairman Edward Markey (D-Mass.), who was scheduled to speak at the global warming event, also canceled his appearance because of the inclement weather, a spokesman from his committee’s office told CNSNews.com on Monday.
CBS goes on though, After publishing this story, the Global Warming Trouth Squad got wind that it would be bad press to not attend a Global Warming rally due to a snow storm, so they contacted CBS and changed their story (lied):
(Editor’s note: After this story was published, the communications director for the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming said that Chairman Ed Markey, D-Mass., could not attend the global warming rally because of a “scheduling conflict.” )
The article goes on to note that though they could not say where the Communications Director needed to be, it was deffently not at the rally with the snow storm, but the snow stom had nothing to do with it. If you believe that, I have some carbon credits to sell you.
Church Approved Fearmongering
Feb 17th
Fearmongering: the use of fear to influence the opinions and actions of others towards some specific end. Well, we have no shortage of examples here.
Straight from News.google.com when searching for the words “Global Warming” and clicking on the ”all news articles” for the number one story. Out of 90 articles, only 19 of them are something other then “ITS WORSE THEN WE THOUGHT WE’RE ALL GUNNA DIE”.
Thats 78% of the articles fearmongering.
The fearmongering here is obvious, but only when you look at multiple articles in a list like this. Note, I did not edit this list at all so some in here do not fear-monger… but the articles that are all “We’re gunna die” are the majority by far.

We Will Always Be At a ‘critical threshold’ to Act
Feb 17th
The phrase ”its okay, we’ve got lots of time” will forever be replaced with “Act Now or DIE”.
From Financial Times:
The world is warming far more quickly than scientists forecast just two years ago when the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change published its last reports, according to a series of assessments presented over the weekend.
Man, these guys can’t even get past the first paragraph without lying. The earth has been cooling since 1998 despite increased carbon in the atmosphere.
Mark my words: We will from now on always be “Closing on the ‘critical threshold’ ” of which we need to act immediatly.
Riddle me this. If these graphs are accurate (from globalwarmingart.com) :
Going Back 5 Million Years:

Going Back 65 Million Years:

Going Back 450 Million Years:

It would appear all of these looks into the past have something in common. It was way hotter than it is now and the average temperature of the earth appears to be far higher than it is now. How the hell can you say that the temperature we are at currently is the correct one?!?
Answer: You can’t.
